Monday Morning Inspiration 12/6/10
Its Monday morning, the weather is freezing, I got a nagging cold, our beloved Indianapolis Colts lost a heartbreaking game yesterday in OT (thats now a 3 game losing streak.. unheard of in Colts Country) and I am less than 24 hours away of turning the big 4-0!
Sounds disheartening and a crummy way to start off the week, right? Well, remember, my day will be exactly as I make it. Here is how I choose to start the week.
Its Monday morning, light snow is falling and its cold, which is awesome, I should be able to go snow skiing with the family soon. The Colts lost a heartbreaker yesterday in OT, but with all the injuries and 4 picks by Peyton Manning, how did they even make it to OT? What an incredible group of guys to fight through injuries and never give up after being down 17 to 0. The young players are building character and learning to fight and never quit. I am so excited to see them go undefeated the remaining 4 games and make a run to the Superbowl. These boys can do it after watching that game.
Turning 40!! What an accomplishment! I can walk, talk, sing, dance, hear, smell, see, listen, etc, etc. How blessed am I to be able to wake up at the age of 40 years old and go for a run, lay in the grass (or snow) and watch the clouds fly overheard and make shapes, have 2 children and a wonderful wife to share lifes precious moments, share lunch with a close friend, listen to a co-worker who is struggling financially, smell the delicious dinner awaiting when I get home from work, dance around like a fool during Monday night football with the family, sing Mylie Cyrus's "The Climb" in my car when I am alone, listen to my 74 year old father and still learn some of lifes important lessons, being able to reiminsce with my brother about the old days, have extended family gatherings.. man, life sure is precious. I honestly believe the best time of a persons life is between 40 and 65. How awesome is that, I am at the beginning of the best time of my life.
Change the way you look at your life.. funny thing happens, your life changes.
Have a terrific Monday!
