Once a simple plot of land sliced in two by a railroad, Fishers became a town in 1872. The 2012 election brought about a shift and Fishers will officially become a city in 2015. Over the last decade, Fishers has grown exponentially & it all started with home construction. Recognizing that Fishers is a location close to Indianapolis and I-69, Castleton & Geist Reservoir, families moved to the area in droves. Schools expanded from one high school to two.
